MEET US
Chief Mountain Outfitters
Paul Fitzgerald. Our family patriarch is an enrolled member of the Blackfeet Nation and the licensed outfitter for Chief Mountain Outfitters. Paul also is the proprietor of the Leanin’ Tree Café in Babb, Montana, and an all-around good guy. He may show up at the corral to saddle horses and serve as camp tender on occasion.
John Fitzgerald. Our lead outfitting guide is a Blackfeet tribal descendant and our Bighorn sheep hunting specialist. John is the gregarious and respected coordinator for most of our outfitting activities. He has a solid reputation of producing satisfied clients for Chief Mountain Outfitters. Just don’t expect him to whip up a chocolate soufflé in archery season elk camp.
Doug Fitzgerald. Our other licensed outfitter is an enrolled Blackfeet tribal member and an accomplished big game hunting guide. Doug is a student at Blackfeet Community College and will teach Native American Studies. He is a tough competitor on saddle broncs and bulls having twice qualified for the Indian National Finals Rodeo
Debby Fitzgerald. Our personable guest wrangler may be your initial contact with us. Debby will graciously answer questions and handle arrangements for your hunt of a lifetime. Debby teaches in the Browning Public School system and has an Education (M.Ed) masters degree. She was a member of the Montana State University rodeo and livestock judging teams.
Herb Ray Fitzgerald. Our first call when we need an additional hunting guide or assistance in backcountry camps. Herb Ray is an enrolled member of the Blackfeet Nation and knows the Reservation high country as few others ever will. He is an excellent hunter and has an uncanny sixth sense when it comes to the habits and behaviors of wildlife.
Tim Fitzgerald. Our favorite horse wrangler has about the best mentor a young outdoors person could hope for. Tim is a student at Montana State University – Northern and assists with our summer horseback activities. He may show up on fall weekends and school breaks to help with horses and backcountry camps.
